Next week's homework (1st May)

Good moring!!

This week your homework will be to prepare a presentation about your village. If you don’t have any vilalge, choose a town in Spain and prepare a presentation about it.

Remember you have complete freedom to prepare this presentation. You can make a slideshow, create a poster, bring some photos, or bring nothing at all; each of you can choose the way you like best. The only thing I ask is that if anyone will need the computer, they must send me the presentation or the photos in advance so I can have everything ready on the day of the presentation. If you make a slideshow, remember that you can’t include too much text.

One of the objectives is that you don’t read. You can use cue cards or a script to help you, but you can’t read everything you’re going to say.

These are the sections you can include when you talk about your town, Depending on the village, it'll be intersting to include some sectoins or others:

1. Introduction

  • Name of the town
  • Where it is located (autonomous community, province)
  • A general description (big, small, number of inhabitants, etc.)

2. Location

  • What area it’s in (near the sea, mountains, river…)
  • A simple map or explanation

3. History

  • When it was founded (if known)
  • An important or interesting event from the past

4. Important places

  • Monuments, squares, churches, parks…
  • What makes them special
  • Natural, nice places to mention.

5. Traditions and festivals

  • Local celebrations
  • Typical customs
  • Music, dances, or events

6. Food

  • Typical dishes from the town
  • Famous foods or desserts

7. Life in the town

  • What it’s like to live there
  • What people do for work (farming, tourism, etc.)
  • School, activities, sports

8. Fun facts

  • Interesting or funny information
  • Something unique about the town

9. Conclusion

  • Why you like your village
  • Invite others to visit

Tips:

  • Use images and few words
  • Speak clearly and naturally
  • Add a question or interaction to make it more fun 😊
Your speech must last arround 2-3 minutes (or more if you want).
The presetnation will take place on May 6th-7th
Have a great weekend!! 😘
